One house, two products, and the research under both.
QFI Labs is the parent company. The software sits under it, the research sits under it, and anything else we build will sit under it too.
The name on the door, not a third product.
QFI Terminal and DeepAlpha were built separately, for different reasons, by the same people. Keeping them under one name is not branding. It is the honest description: they share the research, they share the view of what a tool should do, and they are maintained by the same hands.
QFI Labs is where that shared part lives. The studies that feed both products, the data work neither of them would justify alone, and whatever we build next.
Small on purpose.
We are a small technical group. Everyone here writes code and everyone here reads papers, and the two are not different jobs. There is no sales department, which is why you have not been asked for an email address anywhere on this site.
We move slowly on anything that ships and quickly on anything that can be thrown away. Most of what we try gets thrown away.
Worth being exact about.
People meet a company with this vocabulary and assume the obvious thing. The obvious thing is not what we do, and the difference matters.
- We build softwareWe sell licences to use tools. That is the whole business model.
- We do researchWe test published claims about markets and write down what we find.
- We do not hold moneyWe never take custody of client funds, and there is nothing on this site that could lead to that.
- We do not manage portfoliosNot for institutions, not for individuals, not for anyone.
- We do not adviseNothing we publish or ship is a recommendation to buy or sell anything.
There is no careers page yet.
When there is a role we will write it here, with the actual work in it rather than a list of adjectives. Until then, if you have read something of ours and disagreed with it in an interesting way, that is a good enough reason to write.
